Hansi is thought to have been founded by King Anangpal Vihangpal Tomar in honor of his guru “Hansakar” (957 AD). Drupad, the son of King Anangpal Tomar, later created a sword-making factory in this fort, which is why it is also known as “Asigarh.”

Lansdowne
